PCR Controls for the molecular diagnosis of dengue virus infection

Dengue is a mosquito-borne infection that in recent years has become a major health concern worldwide. Global incidence of dengue has grown severely in recent decades, predominantly in the tropical and sub-tropical areas of the world. According to WHO, about 2.5 billion people – around 40% of the world’s population – are currently at risk from contracting the disease and it is estimated that 50 million dengue infections occur worldwide every year.

An early diagnosis and a careful clinical management increase the survival rate of patients. In the constant effort to improve our diagnostic solutions for this devastating disease and as a response to our clients’ demand, Vircell presents a renewed set of complete genome PCR Controls for the screening and amplification of the four dengue virus serotypes. These controls have been quantified by real-time PCR (≥12500 copies/µl once reconstituted – batch specific) and are supplied in individual vials containing the purified ready-to-use RNA in lyophilized presentation:

DENGUE 1 VIRUS RNA CONTROL     MBC055
DENGUE 2 VIRUS RNA CONTROL     MBC056
DENGUE 3 VIRUS RNA CONTROL     MBC057
DENGUE 4 VIRUS RNA CONTROL     MBC058
